Completed two more small walks the last few week-ends. After holding a presentation in Bergen I took the train to Finse. There was an excellent mountain litterature (yes, it does sound a bit wierd) festival there three weeks ago. A good 9 hour walk alone on friday made me realize that
1. "Alone" is not as much fun as "almost alone". Then you can talk to people about how few people you've met
2. The "sound" of nature/silence is fun for about 1,5 hours. After that the noise of a wind-stopper jacket, a huge rugsack and waterproof pants sort of get a bit tedious. I had my ipod with me and was listening to all kinds of nice norwegian music. As the day wore on and my feet started feeling the kilometers, the music got a bit rougher. Papa Roach/Linkin Park about half way and Metallica after 25kms
A good walk anyway.
Last week-end, three of us walked to a cabin in Krokskogen. A short three hour walk on friday. Great dinner in a cabin, a good night sleep and excellent breakfast the morning after followed up by a four hour stroll back to Oslo on Saturday was a perfect start of the week-end. Being back in the city by three and getting the most out of the city on Saturday was cool too!!
Winter almost came and now we're back to autumn. Suits me perfectly as I don't have skis yet. Will get another trip in the woods before the snow comes.
